DO I HAVE TO PAY IN ORDER TO PLAY IN A TPT TOURNAMENT?

The poker tournaments that the TPT puts on are completely free and at not cost to the players. Each location that hosts a TPT tournament will have sign-up sheets that are available to their customers.

CAN I BET REAL MONEY DURING TOURNAMENTS?

NO. Betting real money is illegal and will never at anytime be tolerated at a TPT tournament. The poker chips that are used are just that, poker chips!

WHY SHOULD I PLAY IN A TPT POKER TOURNAMENT?

Each location that hosts a TPT poker tournament will provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd place bar prizes. Each 1st place winner is also awarded a Winner's Certificate. This certificate is an invitation to the Final Winner's Grand Tournament to be held each quarter for the prior 3 month winners.. We are confident enough to say that the TPT will be your final table for FREE poker.

WHAT TYPE OF POKER IS PLAYED AT A TPT TOURNAMENT?

We play a FREE Texas Hold 'em poker tournament. We play a tournament style poker event with trained dealers and quality tables. We are dedicated to ensure that you, as a player, have an enjoyable poker playing experience.

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHERE AND WHEN THE NEXT TPT TOURNAMENT IS HELD?

You are able to access our Calendar page to find the next tournament date, time and location.

WHAT IF ALL THE SEATS ARE FILLED AT THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT?

If you are signed up to play, you will play. You might be on a wait list, but YOU WILL PLAY!

AM I ABLE TO PLAY IN MORE THAN ONE TOURNAMENT DURING THE WEEK?

Yes. You are able to play in as many tournaments throughout the week, but keep in mind; you are only able to play in one tournament per night. However, since we run afternoon and evening tournaments during the weekend, you can play twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday.

HOW DO I, AS A BAR OWNER, HOST A TPT TOURNAMENT EVENT?

Contact The Poker Tour. We can provide times and days that best suit your establishment's needs.

HOW DO I PLAY TEXAS HOLD 'EM POKER?

  1. The small and big blinds are posted.
  2. Begin the game by dealing two cards face down to each player.
  3. Follow with a round of betting starting with the player to the left of the big blind. Players must call, raise or fold in this round of betting. Bets must meet the game minimum.
  4. "Burn" - discard unseen - the top card of the deck and place the next three cards, called the "flop," face up in the center of the table. These cards are available to all players, giving each player five cards with which to work.
  5. Follow with a second round of betting starting with the first active player to the left of the dealer.
  6. Burn the top card and add the fourth community card.
  7. Follow with a third round of betting.
  8. Burn the top card and add the fifth and final community card.
  9. Finish with a final round of betting.
  10. Heads-up play between the final two players.
  11. The player on the "Dealer Button" will post the small blind and the other player will post the big blind. This means that pre-flop, the person on the "dealer button" actually moves acts first. On the flop and after, the player who isn't the "dealer" has to act first.
